Hello! My name is Stella Park from Long Island, New York. I am currently a journalist for Leaders in Wildlife Conservation. As a high schooler, I have always been interested in scientific research, specifically environmental and cancer research. I’ve done research projects that strongly lean towards environmental issues, such as pollution and abiotic stress. I’m currently researching textile dye pollution in my school research class. When our Executive Director mentioned Leaders in Wildlife Conservation on his social media, I immediately contacted him for a possible position. I always knew that I wanted to pursue a career in the STEM industry but didn’t specifically know what. I believe that LIWC will broaden my horizons as an environmental activist, as a student, as a scientist, and as a fellow human being. Journaling regularly and working with peers who are eminent writers will also elevate my own writing skills. Trying to introduce current world issues in a brief yet interesting way to our readers is a challenge that I am willing to take. There is always room for improvement, and I believe that LIWC will be the platform that will allow me to do so.
